Never Let A Good Crisis Go To Waste

3 Thoughts

I.

The best revenge is to improve yourself and your life so much they become a footnote in your story.

II.

If you look for excuses, you'll find them.

If you look for solutions, you'll find them.

Talent and skill matters. But self-belief matters more.

III.

Sometimes you win.

Sometimes you learn.

As long as you never stop, you never lose.

1 Game-Changing Idea: Never Let A Good Crisis Go To Waste

The TV is still swinging on its bracket when the office door slams. A phone lies shattered on the carpet. People are whispering, eyes wide, stunned by what just happened.

A few minutes earlier, Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, found out that a music video from his new album had leaked online. 50 Cent is one of the biggest names in hip hop and business. At the time, he was getting ready to launch a new album, with millions of dollars and his reputation on the line.

Most artists would have seen this leak as a disaster. Months of planning and excitement could go to waste in a moment. The record label staff braced themselves, expecting 50 Cent to explode in anger.

But behind closed doors, there was no outburst. No panic. Just a quiet moment to think.

Instead of reacting, 50 Cent looked for a way to turn the situation around. If he couldn’t undo the leak, maybe he could use it to his advantage.

He called his team together—not to complain, but to direct a scene. They staged a wild outburst: the TV ripped from the wall, a phone smashed. Photos were taken and quietly shared with the press. Soon, news outlets everywhere reported 50’s explosive reaction.

The public believed every word. What they didn’t know was that the whole thing was staged by 50 himself. Suddenly, the leak was no longer a crisis. It was front-page news, and everyone was talking about the album.

When things go wrong, you can react or you can take control of the story. The choice is yours.

My book ‘You Can Just Do Things’ comes out April 30th (this Wednesday).

It’s a childhood dream unfolding 🥲

In the book, I talk about:

• How I landed a dream internship at 16 by cold emailing a startup CEO, without a resume, a title, or any business doing it
• The networking strategy Ben Franklin and MrBeast used centuries apart, and how you can use it to grow your circle today
• The single mental framework Jeff Bezos used to walk away from a Wall Street career and launch something that changed everything

And much, much more…

Excited to share it with you soon!
