The Theory of Constraints

“Your business will grow up to its constraint and no more.”
This past Friday, 9 business owners spent ~$150,000 to spend a single day with Alex Hormozi. I was lucky to be in the room.
And one of the biggest lessons I took away was the Theory of Constraints
Put simply:
Every system has a bottleneck. And that bottleneck sets the ceiling for growth.
Until you identify and solve it, nothing else matters.
Most people ignore this.
The basketball player who keeps drilling right-handed layups - but can't go left.
The bodybuilder who skips leg day - because chest day feels better.
The intern who works harder - when the real issue is visibility.
They aren’t bad at what they do. They’re just focused on the wrong thing.
The truth is, the fastest-growing people and businesses aren’t the smartest.
They’re just ruthless about finding and fixing their #1 constraint.
So the next time you feel stuck, don’t default to “work harder.”
Pause and ask:
What’s my current constraint?
Because your growth will never exceed your weakest link.
Until next week,
Jay “Don’t Be Your Own Bottleneck” Yang
