How I turned $0 and 2 weeks into $2,741

And 9 simple steps for you to do the same...

These past 2 weeks have been amazing...

I've spent most of my time:

• Reading books• Creating content• Playing basketball• Hanging out with family• And helping creators grow their solo business

And the best part? I've made $2,741 doing it.

How?

Well, that's what we're gonna break down today.

You ready? I'm ready.

Let's go ↓

But first, a message from We Study Billionaires:

For years on the show We Study Billionaires, The Investor’s Podcast Network has made a habit of chatting with the world’s best investors, like Ray Dalio, Joel Greenblatt, Howard Marks, and many more. With 100+ million downloads, they make podcasts by investors, for investors.

• “Productize yourself.”• “Earn with your mind, not your time.”• “Create assets that compound in your sleep.”

While these are all solid pieces of advice - they aren't as helpful to those just beginning their journey.

Why?

Well, because you don't have much experience to turn into products.

Would you hire a basketball trainer who's never played the game before?

Heck no, and I wouldn't either.

So trading your time for money, in the beginning, isn't such a bad thing.

As Tim Stoddart said: "Don't be too cool to sell services."

In fact, in my opinion, helping clients is THE best way to gain experience.

Here's why:

One, having face-to-face 1:1 conversations is key to establishing loyal advocates for your business.

But two, It's easy to start, and costs $0.

Not only that, but you'll learn:

• Offer Creation• Copywriting• Networking• Promotion• Fulfillment

Here's how to build your consulting offer:

Step 1: Pick a skill

To build a successful consulting offer, you need 1 of 2 things:

1) A valuable skill to teach2) Or a transformation people desire

• What’s a topic people always ask you about?• What impressive things have you accomplished?• What can you talk about for 2 hours straight?

Got nothing? Then go self-educate and come back to this step.

Step 2: Optimize your profile

Your profile is your potential client's first impression of you.

Your profile should have 3 things:

• Who you help• How you help them• And why they should listen to you

Especially in the beginning, it's nearly impossible to niche down too far.

Specificity sells. Onward.

Step 3: Attract attention

Great, now you have an offer outlined and a traffic source.

But how do you get traffic to your offer?

You create content.

But not just any content.

The goal is to show potential clients that you can solve their problem(s).

Next, we work on building an irresistible offer...

Step 4: Identify a problem

A great benefit about building an audience is they'll tell you what problems they're facing...

You just have to be aware and listen.

• What kind of questions are you getting in your DMs?• What comments are people leaving under your posts?• What problems have YOU faced on your journey?

Identify a specific and painful problem you can solve.

Step 5: Create your unique system

Next? Solve that problem.

Break the problem into small parts.

Then construct a step-by-step plan to solve it.

Lastly, tie a unique name to it.

Example:

Problem: Not growing on social media.Solution: Understand human behavior. Master copywriting. Build a distribution system.Unique Name: The Growth Triangle.

Step 6: Use free tools

Don't overcomplicate this step.

Use simple no-code tools to set up your systems.

Remember: Get going THEN get good.

• Payment: Stripe• Scheduling: Calendly• Sales page: Google Docs• Distribution: Twitter & Email List• Systems/Client Resources: Notion

Once you have your entire offer and system set up, that brings us to...

Step 7: Acquire clients

Acquiring clients:• Share with your audience• Ask your network to promote• Send cold DMs to potential clients

The goal is to get eyeballs onto your offer.

Side note: If you're consistently getting traffic to your offer, but no one is converting... restructure your offer so it's more appealing for them. (Read $100M Offers by Alex Hormozi)

Step 8: Overdeliver

This step is often overlooked.

Most people think once they close a client their job is over...

WRONG!

If you want to scale your solo business - then make surprising and delighting your clients a habit.

The things that don't scale, ironically, scale the most.

Before your call:• Do your research• Prepare resources• Come in with a gameplan

During your call:• Listen intently• Never put people down• Be as helpful as possible

After your call:• Open your private DMs• Send them a few resources• Follow up with a kind message

Side note: I always send my clients a “Client Care Package” filled with templates, checklists, and personalized swipe files.

If you do this step right, the next step is a piece of cake.

Step 9: Scale

• Ask your clients for testimonials• Improve your system• Raise your price

It's that simple (but not easy).

How to Make Your First $1 Online:

  1. Pick a skill

  2. Optimize your profile

  3. Attract attention

  4. Identify a problem

  5. Create your unique system

  6. Use free tools

  7. Acquire clients

  8. Overdeliver

  9. Scale

Don't overcomplicate it.

As always...

Always be learning. Always be building. Always be evolving.

And I’ll see you next week.
